Seller. Ben Langworthy.

“A fantastic late 1960s to early 1970s American Cafe Racer Jacket. Cafe racer culture was born in post war Britain where youths would race their customised motorcycles between the motorway service cafes attempting to "do the Ton": racing their bikes over 100 mph. they sparked a subculture which had spread across the Atlantic by the 1970s and continues to this day. Ton up boys wanted to emulate the track racers of the day who wore simple close fitting leather racing shirts with stand collars and from that desire the more practical and now iconic cafe racer jacket was born. This jacket is a lovely worn-in example of this with its tailored silhouette, simple lines and stand collar. It also features a storm flap and has its original zippers as well as a quilted lining making it an excellent all year jacket.”
